Have you ever celebrated National Good Neighbor Day?

If you have not, here are a few ways to celebrate:

Be nice to your neighbor - Sounds a little obvious, but there’s a lot of small things you can do to show your neighbors you notice their existence. Ask them how their day was, or even just say hi! For those on the shy side, even a simple wave is a great way to be friendly.

If you don’t know your neighbors, an excuse like National Good Neighbor Day is a nice conversation starter for you to introduce yourself and strike up a conversation.

Bake some goodies - Share them with your neighbors and bring them to work for your work-neighbors too. Our tried and true favorite is a good ol’ chocolate chip cookie. Our NSHG test kitchen (no we don’t really have one but now we are thinking it's a good time to create one) approves of Joanna Gaines chocolate chip cookies from her cookbook Magnolia Table. You can also find it linked here. If you want to take it a step further, it’s fun to print or write out the recipe of your treat to share.

Invite your neighbors over for a meal - Not sure what to make? Try your family's favorite comfort meal. We like the recipe below, it’s got all the Fall vibes and easily accommodates a variety of diets.

Share with us if you and your neighbors enjoyed these recipes. We love to see our community coming together. Make sure to tag us at #NSHGneighbors to share the love!
