Let's be real if you're like us, you're probably mourning the end of summer here in Alaska. After all, summer is the best season (or so we think). However, we're actually really excited for this new season because rumor has it, "themes" are out and subtle designs are in

This year, your goal for your home should be to bring together a blend of pieces that reflect you, your family, and everything you love. The experts are saying it shouldn't look like fall came and threw up in your house; instead, incorporate elements and pieces that draw you in to add a subtle touch of the season. We're not saying to toss out your pumpkins, scarecrows, or fall leaves decor, but shift your focus to colors, textures, and natural wood elements this fall!

Okay, keep scrolling for the details!

Trending Paint Colors:

We are over the moon about this year's color palette. It includes a blend of warm neutrals and earth tones. Don't worry, we won't gatekeep these paint colors.

Check them out!

Green Onyx, Sherwin Williams | Audubon Russet, Benjamin Moore | Coronado Cream, Benjamin Moore | Alexandria Beige, Benjamin Moore

While you may not want to combine all these trending colors, you most certainly could! Because of their muted tones, adding these colors is a great way to organically create a put-together fall look in your home.

Luxurious Textures:

Time to take your texture game to the next level! Mixing various textured materials throughout your home is key in creating a warm, luxurious feel.

Trending textures include suede, velvet, leather, wool and burl.

Fall is the perfect time to refresh your pillows, blankets, rugs, and accent pieces to bring an overall cozy vibe to your home.

Wood Elements:

Natural wood brings a calming, welcoming feel to the space which aligns perfectly with this year's fall trends. The best part, you can go big or small with wood elements.

Consider incorporating wood elements through a coffee table or side table, wooden picture frames, open shelving, wooden counter stools, or even cutting boards.

Oh, and you'll want to make sure the tones are warm and deep versus grey-toned or light!

With a few simple, inexpensive changes, you can update your home to achieve that subtle, welcoming fall feel that's trending this year! But hey, just remember your home should be a reflection of YOU, so be sure to do what makes you happy and what brings your soul peace.

Happy fall!
